will be attending Althing on Saturday!
Hosted by the Shire
of Al-Sahid and the Barony of Starkhafn, the Althing will be held on Oct.
28-30 in the Shire of Al-Sahid. Althing will hold a series of individual
and team prize contests on Saturday ranging from fighting to games to arts
and sciences. If you like to compete, or to cheer on your team, or to just
wrap up in a toasty cloak and enjoy a warm fire against the cold night,
come to Althing!
Each contestant will compete both for personal honor and for the honor of
their team. The Saturday contests will take place throughout the day, with
individual champions named as each contest is won. Each team receives one
point for each contest a team member wins. At the end of Saturday's
contests, we will present prizes to the individual winners and raise a
cheer for the winning team.
We will also host Harvest activities like scarecrow building for those
gentles who would rather cooperate than compete!

Arts -- Speed inkle weaving,
Brewing, Composition, Best garb (modeled or not), On
site cooking, Persona
Martial - Axe/spear Throwing,
Archery, Heavy weapons, Fighter Looting, Scavenger
Tunic Making
Children’s - Boffers, Children’s heraldry
Games - Potato bag toss, Tug of
war, Nine-man Morris, Hunker-Hausen,
Wagering
The cost for the weekend is $15.00 for members and $18.00 for non-members.
Children 12 and under are free, children 13-17 are $8.00 for the weekend.
Day fees are $10.00 for members and $13.00 for non-members. Merchants are
welcome, and in gratitude for your support -- any merchant who sold at
last year’s Althing can come this year for free!
