Contest Steward: TH Lady Jane de Sealynn
This year the Iron Chef Competition has been changed and is now a dessert competition. The judging will be done at the Saturday night revel under the A&S Pavilion (the Permanent Pavilion) around 8:00pm. The judging will be done by the people attending the revel. Please provide a list of the ingredients since there are people with allergies.
There will be up to 10 participants. pre registration is a must.
Deadline is September 1, 2009.
Jane will have the supplies ready for pick up around 9:00 am Saturday morning, September 5. Jane and Al-Sahid will be providing the competitors the following ingredients:
1. cone sugar
2. 4 cups flour
3. A secret ingredient which you will get when you pick up
your supplies.
4. 6 eggs
You may bring nuts, fruit (dried or fresh), spices, unsweetened
chocolate for a garnish, butter or lard and any other liquids
you may need. Due to the heat I will not be providing these things since
in the past they have melted before the competition began.

Highland War Brewing Contest

Bring your best or best attempt at Home Brewing to Highland War. We want
your hand-crafted beverages, both alcoholic such as beers, wines, meads,
sake, cordials, liqueurs, spiced wines (like hippocras and claree) and
non-alcoholic items like vinegars, sekanjabins, soda, and syrups.
The Brewing Contest will be held on Saturday, September 5th. All
brewers are welcome and there is no charge for entry. Entries will be
accepted from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at A&S Pavilion (the Permanent
Pavilion). Judging will begin promptly at noon.
Jane or Donal will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Make
sure you put in the subject line "Highland Brewing"
